The lovely people that are running The OnLine Influence Conference these days are building us an amazing conference for April!
Building on the popularity and brilliant success of the last two Oiconfs in Cardiff, Paul and the team at Coup Media are putting something truly special together.
This is exactly why I handed the baton over – so that the professionals could come in and make of the conference everything it could be.
Here is the actual update from the team:
Here’s an update on Oi
You’ll know that we’ve secured a date (April 10 2014) and a venue (Cardiff Met University School of Management), but we wanted to tell you what else has been happening in our world…
We’ve been beavering away to secure great speakers for the Keynotes and great tech companies for our 50 minute masterclasses. We’ve nearly finished the new site – a little later than planned – and we’re going to start selling earlybird tickets next week. If you sign up here - oiconference.com you’ll get a pre sale heads up, and you can get the same if you like us on Facebook and follow us on twitter.
Next year’s Oi Conference is going to be a little different and we are following a theme of Inspiration and Education. We’re going to stream the keynotes live on our Facebook page, but the Masterclasses will be strictly for attendees only.
So who’s confirmed as speakers so far? Well Brandwatch (the world’s no1 social media monitoring tool) are on board to tell us all about social data analytics and how we should be using it to make better decisions.
David Hieatt - founder of Howies, Hieatt Denim and, Do Lectures and Do Lectures USA. David is one of the most inspiring people you’ll meet and incredibly well connected in the tech/media world.
Hootsuite will be there giving a masterclass on the world’s biggest social media publishing platform, and Mo Syed – founder of the For Luca campaign will talk about how his social good campaign turned tragedy into a global movement incorporating sports stars, rock stars, actors and celebrities to raised awareness of meningitis. Mo’s story is an incredible one, not to be missed.
We have a number of big names on call too – we’re in Dublin at the end of the month, meeting representatives from Facebook, Twitter and Spotify to talk about Oi’14. Fingers crossed we can bring one of them to Cardiff!
That’s all for now. Please stay tuned. Oh did we mention that we’re giving 5% of ticket sale to charity too? More on that next time!
